When the R56 came out, Santa Ana Mini quoted me $2,500 to $4,000 over MSRP depending on what model. This included some sort of extra like the 4th year maintenance. This really turned me off. A few weeks ago, the same person emailed me and said they had some unexpected production slots and I could buy at MSRP and they give loaner cars. By then, the damage was done for me and didn't trust them eventhough they are closer to me. Finally went to Mini Southbay and working with Amanda. MSRP and generally no surprises. In fact, the production date was ahead of schedule

Aloha,
Victoria Hanseroth
I can vouch for that, as I dealt with Victoria via the internet / phone initially, and just took delivery on my MCS over the weekend. Good experience overall.

Anyone got below MSRP in Southern Califronia? In the "Is Markup Fair" thread of the main forum, someone reported $250 below MSRP + free mats from Long Beach Mini. Another person got 5% below MSRP from a NY dealer. Anyone else shopping for a 07 MCS or MC in Los Angeles or OC area? Maybe we could all get together to go to a dealership.. show some group buy power!

Hey there,

I'm also shopping in SoCal and have yet to get quoted at less than MSRP. I'm looking to purchase within the next week to two weeks, and will probably just pick something off the lot to avoid waiting for production and all that. SoCal Mini or Long Beach will be my 1st and 2nd stops. Let me know what you're thinking.

I was at Niello in Sacramento this week and MCS and MC were marked up 1495. I spoke with a sales rep and he said they will waive the markup for repeat customers.

Hello. The lady and I ordered a 2007 MCS today at Brecht MINI in San Diego. They initially wanted 10% markup. (I said thanks, but no thanks). Then they tried to roll in LoJack, PermaPlate and floor mats for ~$1600. (Again, said no).

Eventually, we were able to negotiate $500 under MSRP with floor mats!

I went to East Bay Mini this past week and they offer $0 mark-up and guy said the wait was only 6-8 weeks, which seems standard. So if you are in norcal i recommend going there. Concord has more selection if you want one off the lot

MINI of Mountain View has dropped their markup earlier this year since other dealerships within driving distance had done the same. As with fuel, pricing is determined by what the market will bear. I pounded a few times for some kind of discount but they haven't given in yet. I'm hoping some more pressure when they are about to put the contract in front of me will bear fruit. I'm ok with the car being at MSRP but the dealer installed equipment is MORE than adequately marked up to afford some discount.

At Alexander imports got my NFR MCC exactly how I wanted it with $500 off msrp + boot net+ mats+ grocery bag holder thrown in. Talked to Jerod and told him that I sent emails to all local MINI dealers (truth) and asked what's your best price. He's a straight shooter and I did not play games with him.

Crevier is great. Oh my son in law works there so I got the employee/family discount. But it is still a great dealer, loaner cars (BMW, MINI's) and free complimentary car washes for the life of the car.

I found Crevier to be a bunch of weasels who only want to deal with the "uninformed" buyers (AKA suckers) willing to pay $3K extra for a lojack and a special wax job. Have heard good things about their service mind you ....

Bought my 08 MCa off the lot at Long Beach last weekend. Negotiated for $250 off MSRP, dealer threw in floor mats and boot nets. The car also seemed to have a few extras (center arm rest, upgraded gas cap) that don't appear to have been taken into account in the MSRP. Worked with LeFleche and had a great experience all around.

I live in between Irvine Mini and Crevier, and despite a friendly experience at Crevier, I drove up to Long Beach to avoid the idiotic $3k markup. It's surprising to me that dealers in SoCal think they can get away with that, when the next dealer is never more than a half an hour away.

Irvine has $2995 on top of sticker for the Clubman, but they offered the car to me for MSRP and would throw in floor mats and wheel locks.

A friend at work just went to Long Beach and they are now charging above MSRP for a new MCS.

It looks like South Bay is the only one not charging a markup.

Go see Amanda, she is a member of our club, SCMM.

Bill

Two months ago I offered to order/purchase a JCW Clubman from the Sales Manager @ MINI of Mt. View. She said she had no details or allocation, but said that they'd be marking them up at least $3,000. No Thanks.

Ordered one from an out-of-state dealer @ MSRP. It was built last week and should be just a one-day drive away in early Sept.

And now MINI of Mt. View's service technicians have been on stike for about six weeks..........................

7.5 weeks from getting my prod #. if she was completed a day earlier, i would've made a earlier boat and saved myself a week and a half (including jul 4th holiday)

you should expect 6-7 weeks as norm. You should've gotten a prod# by now. Who's your MA, i hope it's not the blond dude.
