Anyone else going to this? I can't wait!

I dunno if anyone else posted about this yet (I may have but couldnt find it...)- anyway the BMWCCA is having an autocross on the 15th at Irwindale speedway- MINI's are welcome .


Here is some info on the event, courtesy of Kelly Moon at BMWCCA:

AutoX August 15th @ Irwindale Speedway

BMW Car Club of America, Los Angeles Chapter
Autocross information sheet

Event fee: $65 (includes lunch)
Helmet rental: $10

Our autocrosses are currently run as “first come, first served” events,
No pre-registration accepted. It is recommended that you arrive early
to ensure a place in line when registration opens at 7 am. We must limit our entries to no more than 65 due to lot size and group size.

Gates open at 6 am, registration at 7 am.
Upon entering the gate you will sign a waiver and be directed to where you will “pit” your car and empty your belongings.

Once your car is emptied of all loose items, please raise your hood and trunk lids. Our TECH people will inspect your car, then close the trunk and hood lids if your car passes tech.

At the entrance to the gate you will be handed a sorting card that is either
blue or red. PLEASE do not misplace this card as it will be used also as your lunch ticket!

The format for the day is as follows: You will run two practice sessions andwork one session. In the afternoon we will set up timing lights and you will have the option to compete in your car classification for trophies. PLEASE

NOTE: your car insurance will likely NOT be in effect for any timed or
competitive runs.

Once the course has been picked up awards ( trophies) will be issued.

I've got something else to do that day, but Bill (my hubby) is planning on taking my car. I'm still not sure how I feel about this.
