Anyone know of a place in San Diego to rent an "S"?

I tryed a google search and found just a standard Mini at some exotic car rental place.

You will most likely have to stick with the exotic places because normal rental car companys do not rent stick shift due to obvious reasons (some people can't drive stick).

Before I bought my MINI I rented an S in Vegas for $99/day.

 

I haven't heard of any place in the San Diego area that rents them...

Specialty Rentals has locations at LAX and in Santa Monica. Check out their website for details. For those of us in NorCal, they're all over the Bay Area.

Or is this the same place that you found via Google? Your post doesn't give the name of the rental co.
