"San Diego British Car Day" is still being organized, as always, for the first Sunday of October. I'm not part of the organizing committee nor are we in charge of awards this year-- we passed it on to another club whose turn it was-- but I just wanted to spread the word.

The venue is the same as it was last year, Admiral Baker Field [604 Admiral Baker Rd, San Diego 92108 (TG 1249-H6)]. In case you missed it last year, the location had to change because the event, in the eyes of the officials of San Diego County, had outgrown the old venue and a bunch of additional insurance and police and yadda yadda yadda. Whatever. The venue has lots of playground equipment nearby for kids to play on so it's fine for the little 'uns, too.

And again, as it always has been, the number of awards are directly related to the number of pre-registered cars in any particular class. There needs to be at least 3 pre-registered vehicles in order for there to be a trophy. The mini/MINI categories are:

Saloon Internal Hinge
Saloon External Hinge
Long Wheelbase (mokes, wagons, pickups, vans)
Racing
New (ie MINI COOPER and COOPER S and for this year, CLUBMANS too)
(FYI: if a bunch of each new variant pre-reg and show up, categories will open up the following year so the COOPER S and CLUBMAN could have an individual category)
