MINI Takes The States
Not much info other than the dates.
The email I got from MINI
4/8/08
Los Angeles
Los Angeles: August 1-3
MINI Owners already feel a little bit like celebrities with all the admiring stares they tend to attract. Just imagine the looks we’ll get when a thousand of us storm the City of Angels. Plus, we’re taking over the Rose Bowl for the MTTS festival, so you’ll get to reenact all your favorite football dreams with your MINI cheering you on.
Have you signed up for automatic MTTS updates? We’ll be adding a lot more details over the coming weeks, but in the meantime, here's the basic schedule of events for the weekend:
Friday 8/1:
Evening:
Owners Welcome Party
Saturday 8/2
Morning:
“Owners Only” Rise And Shine Rally
“Future Owners” Test Drive at Festival
Afternoon/Evening:
MINI Takes the States Festival at Rose Bowl Stadium (Pasadena, California)
Sunday 8/3
Morning/Afternoon:
MINI Takes the States Festival Conclusion at Rose Bowl Stadium (Pasadena, California)
Afternoon:
MINI Motoring Hearts™ Volunteer Activity (optional)
MINI TAKES THE STATES FESTIVAL REGISTRATION
In order to participate, this year we’re asking each person who comes to a MINI Takes the States festival to make a donation of $20 if paying in advance online or $30 if paying at the event. If you’re lucky enough to be able to make it more than one city, you’ll need to pay each time. And kids under 12 are free*; free to imagine, free to color their hair green, free to run barefoot….you get the point.
With this donation, you'll be getting access to an amazing weekend of unforgettable fun and helping a good cause, with all net proceeds from the registration fee going to a regional MINI Motoring Hearts™ charitable organization. We're also looking to organize some volunteer activities each Sunday during MTTS weekends. To learn more about the MINI Motoring Hearts™ program click here.

The Rose Bowl! Fantastic, right in my neighborhood! I've already signed up - anyone know how they are actually going to do autocrossing at the Rose Bowl? There are a few lots around the Rose Bowl, but some of them are maybe a little awkwardly shaped.
BTW - I just listened to the White Roof Podcast on Motoringfile, and according to MINIUSA, if you want the "bag of goodies" you *need* to register in advance. If you just show up, they won't have a bag for you. Also, the price goes up to $30 if you show up at the door.
