For those of you who decided to purchase out of state and have your MC shipped to So. Cal (even better if San Diego area):

Did anyone ordered a build from an out of state dealer or was your purchase right off the lot?
How did your registration process go?
Any extra charges/penalties for buying out of state and registering in CA?
Would you do it again?

I too am looking at the higher that MSRP purchase price at the local dealerships. By local I also mean Orange County/LA area. Mini of the Hamptons is on the list!

hi there i bought my mcs at universal for msrp and got quoted 6K over invoice at nick alexander in downtown LA. and my friend got msrp in nick alexander, so go figure

anways, i have bought other cars out of state, and i will try to help u from my experience

1) for registration..the selling party fills out your paperwork, and you have to take it to the dmv. obviously since its purchased out of state, no sales tax will be paid. the sales tax will be paid once you register it here..

2)no penalties i know of

3)yes i would do it again
