best roads near vegas?

Greetings, Sin City Motorers,

I'm going to be in Vegas July 14-18 on business, and would like to explore the neighboring areas for some spirited motoring. Can anyone recommend a great day trip around Vegas, along with the necessary known speed traps.

Not that I will be breaking the speed limit or anything...

Thanks,
David

The drive through the Valley of Fire (1/2 hour north of LV on I15) is a very nice, and fun drive. Red Rock and Mount Charleston are supposed to be fun, I haven't done either yet.
The Sin City MINI Club is having a group drive to Mount Charleston on sunday 4/18, if you want to join us, you are more than welcome. For a map to the meetup point, have a look here.

Be careful in the Valley of Fire and in Red Rock...the roads are very fun and beg you to go faster! Both places are State Parks and require you to pay admission to enter.

Mt Charleston is a neat drive. You should met up with SCMC and tag along with them.
