Kinney road, out past Old Tucson, Desert Museum and into the Saguaro National Park is good to the west, short road lots of curves up and down Gates Pass, Picture Rocks area is good too!! (when traffic is light)

Old Spanish Trail, and areas out east close to Colossal Cave are good. Lots of fun stuff farther North past Oro Valley too...

Many of us like to head south towards Sonoita and Patagonia areas, or Sierra Vista...in fact some of us are planning to do this Saturday the 10th.

email me for more on our group and goings on barneyrael@aol.com, put MiNi in your subject line please.

Visiting Out-of-Towner

Great information.

I am motoring in from LA to visit my brother in Tucson over the weekend of July 30th through Aug 2 and will need some appropriately twisty roads to give him a meaningful demonstration drive.

Are there any local MINI events or gatherings in the area that weekend?

Been There, Done That

Well, I went to Tucson from Pasadena. Spent the entire time helping my brother prepare his house for selling. The only good thing to report about motoring there and back is that I averaged 35.1 MPG both ways at 70 to 75 mph on the freeways. Pasadena to Phoenix on one tank with 45 miles left on the tank.

The bad news is that I did not see a single other MINI the entire trip. Must be the heat.
