Don't forget to add some air to your tires and have at least a half a tank of gas.

Todd

Of note, I was running almost a full tank of gas through my car last time on the track...

Race fuel is available if starting with half tank does not get anyone through the day.

Anybody bringing a jack and torque wrench?

Just back from Firebird. The track is smooth as glass, just repaved.

Great news.

Also, 35-38 MINI/Mini's are scheduled to be there on Sat.... about 10 were there today.

Work?????

That is a bummer. I had the camera mount all ready for you.

Try to make it if you can, if only for a few hours.

If we do miss you tomorrow, we will see you on Friday. Vegas will be a blast and the 12 Miles of Terror is on the way. Another reason to bring the camera mounts!!

Whew! What a day at the track. Today’s turn-out was awesome. 2 Loti and over 8 MINIs—lost count. Tomorrow should be an incredible turn out. What happened today was unexpected. I did the driving school today instead of tomorrow because they expect over 40 drivers in the class. There were only 15 or so today. What made it difficult was there weren’t enough instructors to ride in everyone car so we had to split up. We got 5 20 minute track sessions, which was much more than I thought.

The people there are super nice. By far the nicest bunch of racers I’ve ever meet. Sure you have to stage on time, but everything else is really relaxed. The classroom was better than I thought it would be. I certainly got my $40.00 from it. The in-car instructors were really cool, and the classroom instruction taught me things I had no clue about.

This is the last time their club plans to do anything like this. Prices are going up. Be sure to get there at least for the free laps and get your coupon to get into a future driving school.

If you plan to do the driving school on Saturday, be sure to get there no later than 7:30AM so you can get registered and over to the classroom which starts at 8AM sharp. Also be sure to have a FULL tank of gas. In those 5 20 minutes sessions I ran it to empty from a full tank (yes, less than 10 MPG).

Be sure to say “thank you “to Tom Ptacek as well as the owners Larry & Vickie Pond who brought you this awesome opportunity.

I did the driver's school today with Dominic, what a blast! Us Mini drivers are fast! Maybe having great cars help. Had a wonderful day, good track conditions. Did a spin in turn 4 on cold tires. I may just come out on Saturday just to watch, tires have no tread left.

R50 here: just returned from the Sat track day and still have a snoot full of burnt rubber and high octane. Went fast
enough to make the tires scream. Actually had a couple of laps at the end of the day that were somewhat consistent.
Even passed a few folks... ....
Thanks Dominic for finding out about this. I don't think racing is for our everyday driver: have a new stone chip in the
windshield, a cracked front blinker lens and 1/8" of track rubber built up on the inside of the rear tires! C'est le guerre!
As always - good to meet new MINI owners.
Next week - the open road to Vegas.
