Servicing a MINI at a BMW dealership?
Interesting article. I wonder if more people outside of the Valley Of The Sun would be buying MINIs if they knew they could take them into any BMW serice center for servicing their MINIs?

See, that is what I thought would make sense all along. I know distance to a service center is a concern for many, including myself.
Distance for service has been one of the things that has kept me from jumping on the new MINI owner bandwagon. It has been hard resisting since the great folks in the club have let me drive and ride with them, or trade my classic for a new MINI for a few miles.
I can hear my check book groaning as we speak. How far can I stretch my budget before it breaks.

The way I read the article, only BMW dealers located in cities NOT serviced with a MINI dealership may do the work. To allow a BMW dealership to service the MINI in the same city where a MINI dealership already exists would cut into the MINI dealership's profitability. That makes sense.
Having said that, I would guess, however, that ANY BMW dealer would eventually be able to do simple MINI maintenance such as tire and oil changes regardless of location.
