Hey Guys, what is this 12 mile thing?
It sounds fun. But what is up with the need for radios?

When is it planned for?

The 12 Miles are a portion of a fun run that was layed out by Dominic in late September. This stretch was so much fun that sereral of us on the fun run ran the 12 miles 3 times... at what might be called "breakneck speed". See binkydognose post earlier for an aerial.

Why the radios???? This is a very quite road but at speed it can be dangerous. With someone posted at each end of the run we can be notified of any traffic that may turn onto the road (and Highway Patrol). At the speeds we ran, you do not want to encounter "Jethro" in his 75 Chevy pickup. I did and I did not like it.

Cool. I want in.
When is it?
Please don't do it this weekend.
It looks like it is time for Matty.
April is having contractions about 10 minutes apart.
She won't make it throught the weekend.

So in a couple weeks, I would love to do it!

Hopefully it all goes well Brandon!

We haven't decided yet. We're doing a fun run on Sun (just a tester...small group)...

Mark - excellent news about the camera mounts!

Yes Haf, it is the 191. This is a one of the best roads for our cars in Arizona(except for the "12 Miles&quot. Downside is it is quite a drive to get to it.

Mike....Mauri and I are going to be swamped with moving into a new house all month. I hate to say but I can not commit to anything for several weeks at least. Given our schedule, I am sure the 191 will have snow by the time I can find the time to go. For us it will have to be pushed out to a Springtime drive. Bummer.

Haf, I don't know if you saw but I have the two camera mounts for the 12 Miles.

The usually keep the ol' hwy 666 (yes, it used to be officially called 666 but now is a more politically correct 191) snow plowed. I'm going to start working with the MINI club from NM and get a joint drive for early spring next year.
