Sounds like we need a poll started for a location. What about the Tower? That sounds like a good place. Or even a state, county or city park. Under a pavilion or smething like that. Why does it need to be inside. Just my .02

well i looked around at the new pavilions they built down by the beach but there are only two, they're kind of small, and i think you have to pay to park. i looked at several other parts of town but the tower is by far the easiest thing to find in south lake county!

Isn't there a Crapper Barrel or other landmark restaurant along State Road 50 or Highway 27 that we could all find pretty easy? We could have lunch/do the meeting thing then find a place to drive around a bit.

Yummy....Crapper Barrel.
Probably on Saturday at Spring Fling in St. Pete the
organizers from Sunriders will be the people to talk to
about organizing autox and insurance. I did one of their
events and have never seen a more organized group.
Some really good drivers as well.....

YES, there is a Crapper Barrel..lol and it has a big parking lot in the rear shared with Home Depot.. Just the spot to get a lumber cart hit ur Mini.

On another site, there is a Super Target, that is not open, but finished just 3/4 mile down the road, east of Crapper Barrel. It has a HUGH parking lot. and a NEW McDonalds..

I like the Citrus Tower, as the first meeting place, Still have not seen a time for this on Saturday.

Wherever's fine with me I was just trying to thing of something easy to spot from the highway. Where is this "Citrus Tower"? And yes, we need a time. If anything maybe we'll sort things out when we see each other at the Spring Thing.

Okay...where is the Citrus Tower... Easy. Go North on Hwy.27... and look for the huuugggeee tower. That's it. LOL. It really is easy to find. Right off of the highway. Can't miss it. If you do...you don't need to be driving.

MINI's First Birthday Party!
Mini Charity Run/ Birthday Party!

HOLD April 5th open. Ferman Mini of Tampa Bay is planning a large birthday party at their dealership. This will be a statewide event! There will be music, entertainment, food, prizes, etc. A trip to the MINI factory will be given away.

There will be a charity ride to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation which funds scholarships for S.O. children who have lost a parent.

It will be around the bay and end in Ybor City at a restaurant/bar. We're working on a hotel discount for Saturday night for all. It will be escorted by FHP & TPD.

This could double as an organizational event for the group??? Whadya think?

Well I talked to Minimad and he has talked to more people "in the know" at Ferman than I have. Sounds like we should reschedule the April 5th meet because it conflicts with the big event that Ferman MINI of Tampa Bay is planning.

orbhot, I don't know who you spoke with but I met today with the MINI manager, the marketing manager for Ferman Group, some Radio station folks, etc. I'm meeting again next week about it and supposed to pick up flyers tomorrow to distribute at Spring Thing this weekend. This is in its infancy but is VERY likely to happen! I needed you all to block the date as some were planning a competing get together in central FL. That's why the early "unofficial" post.

Please do not take the liberty to correct my posts. If I'm wrong, I will do it. Will you please retract your "corrections". thanks.

Citrus Tower Map

This shows you the location, you cannot miss it, It is 150 Feet tall.

Noon then, thanks to who ever started this thread. If someone redirects it to the Ferman thing, I will go there as well. Although, I believe they would be biased towards the trip to Mini to their customers only.

And, yes we have all the major resturants close in the area.

Hi : I'm from Jacksonville, just read about your little proposed soiree. Will try to be at the tower with my new red Cooper S (Minimine) at the appointed time. It's an overnighter for my wife and I but we have spent many fall afternoons over the years at the Mt Dora Bicycle Festival and are reasonably familiar with the area. Puffed up Sugarloaf many a time on my recumbent sure will be easier in Minimine.

The Citrus Tower seems well located for all of Florida, a move to Tampa would leave us north Floridans (or is that south Georgians) in left field. Try to keep it at the tower please. And maybe someone should go to the winery in Clermont and lay in a supply of that delightful Florida Red that they produce.
TTFN (ta ta for now) LEE

Well whats it going to be??? The Tower or Fermans...If its the Tower I am going to pass. Sorry. I am going to Fermans and enjoy the party. If you all decide the Tower and the time is good I will try to do both. But the Ferman party sounds to good to pass up. We got a flyer at Spring Thing and it really is going to be a great day. So lets think about it and decide. We could ALL do the Fermen party and then meet after with everyone. Bet there will be a lot of people there that don't even know of this wild bunch of MINIACS and would want to join in. Let me know what's up ....

From what I heard at Ferman their budget for
the Party is three times what they had initially
expected. There will be lots of goodies and free
food....I'll be with Nobull....

I agree with Nobull. Now that we know the Ferman event is has a big green light for April 5th, I say we double the purpose and talk about the club formation while we're there.

Ferman got a rate of $80 for Friday, Saturday or Sunday stays that weekend at the Hyatt in Tampa! Sweeeet!

I meet with them again this Thursday. Should have more details later on. They will be mailing ALL Mini owners in FL with an invitation and details! They will to do this event right. They have experience with their Harley rides (last one had 4,500 participants!)

i can go both ways. if you guys wanna do both on the fifth, thats cool. the birthday party thing sounds really fun, and i already got the day off, so i'll be doing that.

i dont know how hard it is for you guys to get days off, but it's relatively easy for me. whatever works best for everybody!

I think we should try to get as many people as possible to the Ferman event...I'm sure they wouldn't mind if we discussed the organization for a little bit. I mean, this might be the biggest event in FL so far, so I think this is too good of an opportunity for us to pass up. Minimad...is there any way you could ask your contacts at Ferman if it would be okay if we talked about the organization some at the meet?? Thanks.
