Do you know me???

Actually, do you know my car?

I had Carmax ship it from Orlando and I want to know if any of you know anything about it. I'm specifically curious about any mods that may have been done that are not visible (ie: pulley, ECU reprogram, etc.)

It is a 2003 MCS with the Sport Package and that's about it.

Here is the photo from Carmax:

Here is a current view from the back... these tail lights were on the car when I purchased it:

If you know any of my car's history please let me know.

Thanks!!

I don't suppose folks on NAM know each other's VINs (that might be just a bit too intimate), but if you could learn what was on the original license plate someone might recall having seen it (and it would prevent you from getting information about another black MINI from Florida). Admittedly it is quite distinctive in all black with clear tail lights. The new wheels and tires really complete the package. Interesting how different the car appears with the S-lites. Good luck.

You might also want to post this on www.sunshineminis.org to make sure you reach the FL Mini crowd.

doesn't look like a 2003 bumper...? I only mention it because I saw one for the first time yesterday...

nice car! You should be able to see the pulley and a manufacturer's name (i.e., Alta) on its face. Tint the windows!

I'll do a little research and see if I can find the original plate #.

Man, I thought I was on top of things... I didn't realize there was anything specific a/b the 03 bumper. After reading the how-to's on changing pulleys I didn't think I would be able to see the pulley without a huge ordeal (removing motor mounts, jacking up engine, removing a mountain of stuff from around the sc). Am I wrong? If I can't find any info I guess I'll have to do that. It would suck if I did all that and found the stock pulley, then had to put it back together again.

BTW, the pic doesn't do it justice but the windows are tinted to the legal amount. I use this as my company car so I didn't want to take any chances . My sig pic is a little better representation of the tint (though a little exaggerated).

Thanks everyone for your help and comments!!

The reports to find the license plate are expensive, so that'll be a last resort. I did find that the car was registered in Longwood, FL.

Rear bumper is deffinatly not stock. You can see the pulley without removing anything. I would deffinatly investigate what has been done to this car. Looks like there was some modding going on. Is there still a stock intake? Sport paclage is an excellent resale option to have. Run the Vin # through MINIUSA and you should be able to at least find out what the car was ordered with. Nice ride. take some pics of the engine compartment and share them hear you might be surprised what others will quickly see good luck and welcome

You guys aren't talking about the reflectors in the bumper are you? They come with the clear tail lights to make it legal.

The engine bay looks pretty stock, but this is from a guy who didn't know he could see the sc pulley . Check out the pics (sorry about the filth).

I read so much about the MCS when I had my MC I just always assumed the pulley was hard to get to, so I never looked.

I'm confused...that bumper is definitely an OEM piece....

I mean, it has the reflector things cut out and installed for the white tailights, but besides that, its completely factory

I would GUESS that Downtown MINI sold it as that is their way od adding red reflectors to a MINI.

They did that with my first MINI.

Some say that you need red reflectors to be legal on the road. They do those particular reflectors there.

Actually...all dealers are SUPPOSED to use those reflectors, but many don't because some owners dont like the look.

The reflectors are in fact an OEM piece and i believe (not 100% sure) that they are actually part of the package that you buy when you get the clear rear lights.

Atleast you know those are the genuine OEM clear lights instead of the $50 ones selling on ebay.

Just offering to you that Downtown does them more regularly than Ferman, and that may help you find your MINIs history.

I wanna see clears for '05.

Vin # Td5155 Eb/w Mcs

Very interesting.

I would love to know who bought my '02 EB/W MCS from Downtown Mini in Orlando. The Vin# TD5155.

I can tell you all of the history on the car and supply the baby pics too.

Great Thread !

I have often wondered where all my old MINIs were.
