To everyone that wants to explore the limits of their Mini, or just find out how exceptional the handling of your Mini is there is an Autocross event this weekend. The event will be run by ER/SCCA and is held at MetroZoo in south-west miami.

For those that have never Autocrossed before it is one of the best ways to find out what your car, and you as a driver are capable of.

The courses are set up using orange traffic cones, so the chances of damaging you car are very low. The courses are usually pretty tight so speeds are keep low, but car control skills are very important. Autocross events are more about car control than speed so the emphasis is on the driver.

So if you are the kind of person that see every corner as a chance to have fun, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

The schedule of events is:

Course Set-up: 7:00am
Registration: 8:00 to 9:30am
Tech: 8:00 to 9:45am
Drivers Meeting: 9:45am
Timed Run Start: 10:00am
The remainder depends on the number of entrees.

Here is a link to the clubs web page http://autox.carlc.com/ , just go to the calender for event dates. There are also some helpful links to info on car classes, and how to get started in autocross, etc...

Hope to see you there!
