MINIsota Motoring Society's website meeting
He he...if it's one thing I'm good at, it's procrastinating! Granted the info was just decided the other day, but I didn't get around to posting it until now..slacker that I am.
Anyway, for those who like to fly by the seat of their pants and don't like to make plans far in advance and you happen to have some free time and an appetite for Green Mill, feel free to show up to discuss the website future for MMS. Now's you chance to voice your thoughts about what it should look like and what it should tell the rest of the world.
Unfortunately, I won't be there (I know you're SUPER bummed about that), so if anyone else can make it, that would be great. I look forward to hearing about the results!

There were 7 1/2 in attendance. Chris *** and son, John, Christine ,
Chris, Jodie and grandson, Mathew, and Julie.
NAME
We agreed that the name Mini Motoring Society was the name of the group.
We decided that www.minimotoringsociety.com should be our URL.
LOGO/IMAGE
Logo: We think that there should be a call for logo entries until 1/31/2005.
The top 3 will be selected and then a vote will select the final.
Logo requirements: image that communicates Mini, MN , motoring, fun, friends
and love for MINI.
Mission/Image: Motor on. We think there should be a poet among us that
could eloquently express the joy of motoring in a kind of call to motor
statement. Anyone want to tackle that. Maybe in a Seus or a e e cummings
style. Something clever. A statement of our feelings as a group about
motoring together as well as an invite for others to join us.
CONTACTING OTHER CLUBS
Chris and Adam have and will continue to make contact with other groups to
develop a contact list on our eventual website. If members find out about
other groups let these guys know. This information will then be available
on the website.
WEBSITE
We decided that a sub set of 4-5 people should be pulled together to form a
design team. The expectation is that the website would be up in a 1.0
version by spring of 2005. We determined that between our members there is
the design and technical talent to poll on. A separate design team meeting
will be schedule before the end of the year to pull together design options.
Julie will purchase the URL as above on Monday 12/6. so if there are any
concerns, please let her or this forum know.
The website will be hosted at no cost under Julie's current company hosting
account. Joel, Julie's husband, will act as initial webmaster in loading
and tooling the site that is designed. Once the site is up then there needs
to be an ongoing webmaster for updates. Through the process there should be
several candidates interested in this responsibility and possibly the duties
can be shared by several folks to lessen the burden.
EVENTS
We talked about organizing our meeting times and having a regular meeting
time. It was decided that the unplanned, just throw up an idea, approach
was working. What to you all think? Should we have a more formal meeting
schedule? There are about 4 events that have become annual which are
somewhat set.
TO DOs
1.. Schedule a Web Design Team meeting. (Someplace quiet like the Edina
Library. They have rooms there.) - JODIE
2.. Purchase URL - JULIE
3.. Call for Logos - ANYONE
4.. MMS Mission Statement - ANYONE?!
