Time zones

I've noticed this for many months (possibly years), but thought I'd mention it. I live in Boston, so I have my NAM time zone set to eastern time. Nonetheless, every time I visit the forums, the times display one hour ahead of my time (I think it's Atlantic time). For example, it's 8:52 PM here right now, but if I click on the thread at the top of the Pulse, the most recent post displays as having been posted at 9:51 PM.

It hasn't been a big problem for me, because I just adjust and assume the discrepancy, but it seems like it must be a malfunction somewhere.

I live in central time and I thought it always displayed eastern time even though I have it set in my profile options for central standard time. . . .

I'm going to go set it to Mountain and see if it displays correctly for me!

edit: I just changed it to Mountain time and it now displays Central time correctly! I guess NAM is just ahead of the rest of the world by an hour!

Why the heck didn't I think of that? Central time, here I come...

By the way, if it makes any difference, I'm using Firefix 1.0.7

Actually I looked at both your accounts and in your Options (User CP->Edit Options) and there is a system wide setting that is set upon registration where DST is set either on or off. Given that it has been set to on (as long as I can remember) it likely has thrown people off. With this in mind I've set DST to off on Yucca's and Chrisnl count to see if it corrects the problems you were seeing. Additionally on Yucca's account I set it back to Central Time.

Let me know if this straightens out your timestamp issues.

Thanks

Mark
