Low Bandwidth NAM--No/Minimal Graphics?
Low Bandwidth NAM--No/Minimal Graphics?
I'd like to suggest a WAP link/version of NAM so that use mobile users can view PM's and NAM in a quicker fashion.
At about 56k, the headers, and site graphics slow down the refresh speed quite a bit. It's very frustrating to receive an email notification of a PM, so I click on the link, and wait a long time for the site graphics to load up, so I can read that I have a PM, then click on the actual PM to view it, only to wait for the site graphics to reload again.
It's gotten to a point that I tell people not to PM me if they want a quick response, cause it takes 10 times longer for me just to check the PM.
At broadband speeds from my desktop, everything is great, but when you're operating by the kb, and mobile connections vary by location, it's frustrating. Imagine waiting 10 minutes as the PM is loading, then the connection fails, and you need to do it again.

It is actually made for Searchengine spiders like Googlebot so they can index the site, but you can use it like a "lite" version if you like. Don't know about wap tho.
Actually I don't need WAP, but my mobile device doesn't do Javascript. The archive link is a great idea! Thanks. Now I just wish there was a NEW POSTS link.
