Club & Regional Forum Restructuring

The forum structure of the Club & Regional Forums has been changed.

The clubs and regional forums are now organized into geographic blocks. This change has been made to help make it easier to find the applicable clubs and regional forums for each area. It does add one additional tier to the club forums part of the site, but it should aid overall navigation of the club and regional forums.

Thanks for all of your support of NAM. The restructuring of the forums today is a sign of the growth that NAM is going through. It's great to see so many people visiting and contributing to the site.

If any other clubs would like their own club forum on NAM, please read more about the process here

Dave

It took my feeble brain a few minutes to figure out what was going on.
I like the option to collapse areas you don't really read much. Is that new or has it been there all along?

The ability to collapse segments of the forums has been with us since we migrated the site to vB3 back at the beginning of June.

All you need to do is click on the little arrows and to expand and collapse each section of the forums (for instance, expand the general interest area, collapse OTP, expand SCCA, etc.). Those arrows are on the right side of the forum category bars when you look at the list of all the forums. Some of the left column can also be expanded and collapsed in the same way.

Oh, this is awesome. I think it'll drive more traffic to our club forum which is exactly what we need! Thanks!

Umm... I must be the only one that doesn't like this change... The big downside I see is that on the main page you no longer see random topics on those sublevel boards that might catch your interest. You have to be actively looking in that region now to see news. I think it will diminish random traffic to boards that are in regions other than your own...

Oh well... NAM is great overall, so I'll live with it (like I have a choice! )

Because of the Pulse, I think we'll still see a fair amount of posting in the regional forums from people outside of the particular region that just bump into an interesting topic.

Unless, like me they don't run the pulse... I posted about interest to get a pro panoramic photo done at the Dragon last night and so far only Clo has posted... seems like before, more people would have noticed it, but now they have to go three links deep... Oh, well can't please everybody, every time... now I have to watch nationals, midwest and east coast along with the regular board... when am I supposed to work??

BTW, How come C3 ended up in a regional board? Aren't they national?
