Are older thread links dead??
Are older thread links dead??
Don't know when I made this post (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ic&topic=12199).
But when I try to link to it all I get is a dead end, also when I did a search for my posts, it limits me to only a year of them. Are the 2 related?
I'd hate to have to reconstruct that thread about grille work
the pics are still out there floating around in space.

Here's the post I think you're looking for
As for search results, have the search function return results as THREADS, not POSTs. By doing that I found all threads you had posting to dating back to November of 2002.

Those would be Torx screws
Did mine last year about this time, Here are some shot's I did to help someone else recently.
I followed the posted instructions from R53W's and Gabe's site and even looked over at Mini2. After the install I noted that the removing of the 1/4" of material from the bottom egde of the lower grille wasn't needed.
You do have to remove it from the ends and about 5" down the lower ends but not from the entire lower edge. The instructions are based on an install where they removed the slat support from the lower bumper, which the instructions don't call for.
If you don't remove this slat support then the lower grill "pivots" on it causing a gap either at the top or bottom edge, I went with the gap at the bottom edge, less visable.
I also cut mine so the tabs are longer and cut new slots into the bumper cover for them to fit into, as they are different from the stock grill.
Have some pictures:

Hope this clears up what I wrote. :D
