Is there a way

Like most new owners...I have a ton of questions..
I would love to add heated seats...Is there anyone selling oem or aftermarket heated seats!

Hasd an Audi with them and they were great!

Oh Boy...1st oil chg!

Oh Boy...the joy of the 1st oil chg

My Mini is a 2003 purchased used with 23,000mi

I decided to tackle the oil and air filter chg as I have always done through the years

Picked up a few german quality filters, a 36mm socket from sears ($7 which was large but still deep, but workable. I losened the canister with the wrench after releasing the pressure by beginning the drain, and used an oil filter grabber tool wrench took to get it off...easy!

(Yes, the cursing started when I put the new filter and canister back on)...only about 5 tries but eventually frustrating the heck out of me! Hand tightening is the ONLY way to be sure of not cross threading! Another interesting thing was that when refilling, I had to hold the funnel just a little higher than the inside "stop" of the filler area...otherwise it would not flow fast enough! 5w 30 is like water and my Honda Element takes it too! So did my Audi A4!

I had to get a pair of fiber low profile racks at Wal Mart for $29 since my normal metal racks were too high. Geez, this thing is low to the ground!

Put in 4.7 quarts of Mobile 1 5w-30(always use that brand)and used the key and odometer resaet sequence to reset the oil service light.

Voila..saved a trip from Reno to Sacramento just for the filter chgs. I will make it over the hill as the inspection nears,. 15000 between oil changes is a bit too sparce for me...Usually at 3000-4000 mi is more my cup of tea! It is just way to dusty here and even in a great environment, I have always changed opil religously at that interval!

Oh BTW: BMW wanted $85 for the oil chg and reset! Of course they gave me the old Special tool needed story! Many years ago that was the case but the feds put a stop to that!

The 14,000mi old oil was getting pretty dark, and the filter was a mess so I will stand by my schedule! More oil changes cannot hurt, and for about $30 in parts, it is a good investment.

Scraped hands included...was well worth it!!! this pup was a harder change than my old Porsche 911SC!

I do not take it out too much due to all the sand on the roads and it really is just about perfect in every way...loks and drives like new!!

WAIT TILL SPRING!!! The Honda Element will be in the Garage, and the mini will take to the streets!!
