[Sun, Apr 27th @ 9.30am] Britain on the Green, Alexandria, VA

It is April 27th, which is a Sunday, at Collingwood Mansion on the Potomac, just south of Old Town Alexandria. I went a few years ago and it was fun. I think it would be great to get some new MINIs, both R53 and R56 cars and maybe even a MINI GP entered in the concourse. Anyone up for this? Link below gives you more info, and if we get enough participants, we could probably get our own class!

Looks interesting, kind of like a Yank version of Goodwood but without the racing. Not sure if I can talk the wife into it, as I've already used up one Kitchen Pass to go to track day at Summit Point on the 28th. It would be kind of interesting to have Emma (the car) all shined up for a concours on Sunday and out at the track on Monday.

The links at their page seem to be dead.

Yes, I've gone the past three years. They have a peoples choice vote too and if we get 5 MINI's registered they'll create a class for us. We had 5+ last year and your's truly won in class. Got a nice medal. If you get enough cars they'll offer a 2nd and 3rd place medal too.

They're still working on the pages. A officer of the club works with me and brought me a copy of the newsletter the other day.

I should be getting a registration app in the mail any day.

Wensleydale got the second place last year, fun to look at the other rides. Won't be able to make this year, will most likely be overseas....hopefully a chance to stop in London !

If I'm in town that weekend (travel plans should be sorted out by the end of the week), I'd love to go.

I was there, though not entered last year. Note that if we get 5+ cars registered/entered there is an incentive with a 1/8 page ad space available for DCMM in the show program;

http://www.capitaltriumphregister.com/BOG_2008/Club_Incentive_07.pdf

[ Yes, I know that is the incentive PDF flier from last year, but the BTR group running the website has a bit of dyslexia concerning page links with a broken link to the 2008 flier. That and webpage security issues, since I found that pdf file by doing a directory listing of
http://www.capitaltriumphregister.com/BOG_2008/ ... bad security for your webpages BTR. Maybe I should volunteer to assist with their webpage Quatlity Assurance? ]

Anyway, good show. I plan on being there with 'ACTL SZE' (not clean enough to enter) and bringing a fellow member of DCMM along with his MCS Convertible ... if he can make it.

Thanks for the post/reminder.

- Jim

CDC autox is on Sat Apr 26th, so you should be able to join both Sat and Sun events.

Please find the link to the Online Registration Form for the British on the Green.

Under Club Affiliation, use DC Metro MINIs. They will arrange the parking for us in the same area, which will be very cool.

Just for clarification the link that Maxi posted is for the Britain on the Green event not CDC autox

Question for Mark Mantarella or whomever registered last year, how long did you have to stay....the entire day?

Ok gang. I just checked and you can still pre reg until tomorrow the 18th!

You can reg online at http://www.capitaltriumphregister.co...8/BOG_2008.htm

If we dont' have 5 by tomorrow we don't get a class of our own and one of us can't win that nice medal. I can't seem to find my pics of this show. I'm going to ask my friend if I can post his. Will send him a note now to ask...

You can leave at any time. Unless you want to see if you won the medal for people choice in class.

FYI The GW parkway is CLOSED Sun till noon. You have to coome down Route 1 or Fort Hunt Road, then across on Collington to cross the parkway and enter the show.

Hi All,

We have the event listed on the calendar.

Please have your name on the list, if you're interested to join or has already registered. So we will have a rough idea of how many MINIs will possibly be there and try to block spaces enough for everyone.

Please find the link below.

Participants

Thank you.

Maxi,

On the RSVP page did you mean people who are just going to see the show or people who are registered to show their cars?

Some pics from my friend at xxxx of the 2005 show.
Edit:( Took these down, will have mine of this year up shortly)

Sorry it took a while, I'm on the road and both time and resources are limited.
They save spaces in the show based on the pre reg, as cars are grouped by class. But MINIs are small, I'm sure we'll be fine with any day of event registrations!
