does this have to be used with a stock diverter or can one use say an ALTA diverter?

 

Im not sure if it will work or not. Theoretically I am assuming you could run both, however I'm not sure if it would have any ill effects on performance. That is something you may want to contact Alta about that prior to running a set up like that
