Does anyone know what is the production amount that MINI will do on the Highlands Edition? I literally cannot find any information on them besides the info from MINIUSA.com.

 

I've heard from my dealer it is 400 units for the US.

Has anyone seen one yet? I thought they were hitting dealers in late September

 

I have 2 at my dealer - one auto, one manual. Both green.

It's a nice looking combo.

Did you have any of these show up. Pretty rare.

 

I've seen one of those in my life. I'm pretty sure we had one here at one point. Anything that is super rare...we normally get one of at some point as we are the ONLY factory store in the entire country as far as I know. We get really interesting cars coming in here. I've been trying to get NAM to allow for me to create a separate page of the stuff that we do and have here. Do you have any connections to NAM to make this happen? Would love to post awesome stuff that happens here everyday.

Yea I have only seen 2 in person and one was a wrap and not a real one. Park Lane MINI in the UK does allot of one off factory cars. Not to be confused with the official Park Lane MINI option.

It all started back in the day with the Park lane, Chelsea, Mini Advantage, Mini Neon, Mary Quant edition, British Open Classic, etc...

We just another Highlands Edition in Cosmic Blue. We literally pulled it in the showroom and sold in it minutes. Could be a world record. lol #truestory

 

Have not seen the highlands in person yet. That cosmic blue is really nice blue, looks like a hint of purple.

 

The Midnight Grey Highlands Edition is probably the rarest of the three colors. I have only seen this once. We've had Jungle Green and Cosmic Blue Highlands Editions...but not the Midnight Grey. Looks absolutely amazing in this color. I particularly like the blacked out headlights trim; gives the car a meaner look.

 

I see a few differences...but what are the advantages of this special edition?

Off topic of the Highlands Edition but....I received an email overnight from Bill Jacobs MINI in Naperville, IL. inviting me to the unveiling of the 2017 Countryman. It's vaguely worded but gives the impression that this is the first time in America this car will be seen.
Jan. 5 is the date.
Is this possible or a trick to get me in the showroom?

 

 

We are supposed to have the new MINI Countryman in early January as well. So in terms of their wording...they won't be the EXCLUSIVE place where the new models will be. You should go to it...they will probably will have lots of free food.

 

My dealer is doing something similar - they did the same thing last year when the Clubman came out. Someone from MINIUSA will be present with a preproduction car to answer questions and when they bring it by, that's usually when the MAs and other employees get some training and hands on time with one.

For the Clubman event, they had beer/wine and some hors d'oeuvres and invited the local MINI group as well as some of their customers who were probably interested in one.

Won't be the first time shown in the US (LA Auto Show), but it's a great opportunity to see it in person and get your hands on one.

 

It's going to be a great car and an awesome into party for sure.

 

Does anyone know the paint name or code for the silver trim that is on all Countryman ALL4s? Is it the same color as the silver side scuttles trim of a base Countryman or the silver top on the Highlands Edition?

 

I think the color is Crystal Silver, if I'm not mistaken.

You can get a car in Crystal Silver, but it's the Park Lane Edition with Oak Red stripes. aka the Tony Hawk. You can also get that edition in Earl Grey and Oak Red stripes. Fantastic looking R60!
