After a recent repair in which the driver's side rear taillight was replaced, I was able to see the difference between the new taillight and the existing one on the passenger side, as well as notice the headlamps.

Can I get rid of the fogginess that seems to be inside the headlamps and passenger taillight without replacing them?

 

Over time the rear taillights tend to fade or collect moisture and look foggy. You would have to heat the housing without damaging the lens or housing to separate the connection adhesive. The headlights would have to be heated and separated also in like method , which is a little of involved process. Some people have done it through "joey modding" threads for Gen 1.

If you decide to replace them or change them ( or keep stock ) to maybe a different design we carry many choices dependent on the years. For the hardtop you can also upgrade the top brake light to clear, if you don't have that already.

That last taillight with the clear lamp in the center - what's that? That looks nice.

 

That's the -7/2004 Euro Taillight Set. This taillight comes with the red upper and lower, but with a clear center that flashes orange. Uses the cool diadem bulbs for the center clear. Comes with the top third black light in clear also.

There used to be a kit with the left and right clears with the top in clear, it went NLA , but these are available separately. This was the old school clear MINI taillights that were popular in early years of MINI since 2002. And they use those special bulbs as the euro kit.

I like the clear lights! I have a 2006, hard top. Hm, $100 per light. Very tempting. Would have to wait until later in the year, but... I like it!

audiodef - For a 2006 . Yea, you will need the 7/2004+ lights. So the -7/2004 clears and red/clear kit will not work.
