SCCA is still debating this one, what to do with all the JCW's.

No,

Four seat MINIs can go to H stock for the base Cooper and D stock for the MCS but two seaters would not be eligible.

Old lower power Miatas are in E stock and newer Miatas are C Stock.

Everything depends on if the JCW was a factory built JCW, or kit parts installed at the port or dealer.

My guess would be D Stock with the Cooper S and Clubman S. It's heavier, but gains AWD.

In your original post you asked about a Street Touring class. I would guess STR as it is a two-seater with way too much power to go into STS without ruffling feathers.

Missed the bit about Street Touring. The JCW and the S run in STX.

Also, STR is for Roadsters specifically. And Pirates. S-T-Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The R does stand for roadster, but there are several fixed-roof cars on the approved list. I see that there are also cars with back seats, so I was mistaken about the class being limited to two-seaters.

Hi All,
I just picked up a 09 JCW and am interested in Solo II if my schedules allows me. I am also a 20+ year SCCA member, although I have been out of the loop for the last 8 years. I am trying to find out if I will be in DS or DSP. I do not know if the rims on my car are factory, or a add on. My rims have parralel bars/fins making eight spokes with a radius at the center. sorry folks for no picture yet. Working on image size.

Do they say MINI on them? Even if they don't, they don't need to be OEM, just the same size as OEM which I think is 17x7?

As long as it's the same as OEM you can run DS.

Unless the SCCA has changed that. I competed with someone who had a National Championship removed in tech because his rims were a dealer option, and not a factory option. Like I said I have been out of the loop for a while. Plus I am only planning regional and maybe divisional events in the next year. I know have a pic in my gallery.

I just went through it for slicks on mine. All you need is same size as OEM.

If your wheels are wider than 17x7 (offset + or - 5 mm from stock) then you may also be able to run in STX; much better choice if you are on street tires; Street Prepared allows R tires. PDF of solo rules are on line at SCCA.com.

If your MINI is completely stock then you run in DS, if your wheels are not stock you can run in DSP. If you have only street tires treadwear 140 or more then you can run in STX.

The 2009 JCW Cooper S came with 17x7 wheels stock, 205/45-17 runflat tires.

Like this

Check this link and see which wheel you have-
http://www.mini2.com/forum/faq.php?f...heel_tire_tech

To be stock you need to be the same size as stock not only the actual stock wheel.

Solo 2 is not called just Solo

Minihune,
Thanks for the link and pictures. I love the Chili Red Mini. Great shot of you 3 WHEELING. Or as we said when the NEON trunk kit hit the couse, doing the NEON SHUFFEL. The red mini pics are also the rims I have on mine. I have only had the Bonnet opened twice so, I am still discovering things. Thanks for the info.
