STX (Street Touring X) Post your Modifications!
Since the season is going to get started pretty soon, I thought I'd start a post where all of us STX runners can post our modifications. I'd also like to start a post where we can talk about our successess (or lack of) this season, and see if any trends develop between the list of mods and the results.
And yeah, I know driver competency and level of competition are more important than car mods.
Anyway, my 2003 MCS has:
17x8" Prodrive P1 wheels with 225/45-17 Yoko AVS ES-100s.
H sport Springs
RDR 3 way adjustable rear bar (set on middle setting now, the first test-n-tune isn't until April).
Pretty minimal prep, really, and my biggest problem is inside wheel spin, but a LSD is way out of my budget for the next season or two. Camber plates might be an option, but not until next year.
First CCR event is February 8th.

Good idea. i got my 2003 MCS in October '02. My setup for the 2003 season was as follows:
16x7.5 Kosei K1-R wheels
215/45-16 Azenis (Sport, the only ones that count)
SPAX coilovers
RDR rear sway bar, ended up set at the stiffest setting (there are actually 5) for most of the season)
H-Sport rear links (all 4)
Magnaflow exhaust
BMP intake
Simpson harness
camber plates (used both P&D and Kmac)
alignment
front -2.2deg camber / stock caster / zero toe rear -1.8deg camber, zero toe
oh yeah, and the all important spray bottle of icewater for the tires and intercooler.
For 2004:
All of the above, plus a Quaife LSD has been installed. "Unfortunately" a 15% pulley has too, so I am off to SM unless I change the pulley ratio back.

When you went to the stiffest setting on the rear bar, did you experience any broken end link problems? I'm debating just going to the stiffest setting this weekend before the first seasonal autocross.
Also, why did you try two sets of camber plates?

No broken endlinks here.
I have a very early set of P&D camber plates and the original poly material (they're not all the same) had some issues. Really just teething problems for a new product and the maker did a very good job of supporting them. He's sending them back to me now with Delrin spherical bearings in place of the poly. Great guy.
Anyway, it was mid season and the year end trophy race was very tight for 1st in one of the regions I run in. The P&D were out of commision at the time and I wanted the negative camber as going back to the stock top mounts was only a very temporary solution that probably helped put me in 2nd in a couple of events.

Last season Garfield and I broke a rear swaybar link at the Petersburg ProSolo. At the time we were running the madness 22mm bar on firm. One of the other STX MCS's had a problem with one of their front links. That's why I upgraded to the Alta swaybar links. You can always buy a spare stock link from the dealer and carry it in your tool bag.
