Detroit Autox Team

The Detroit Council of Sports Car Clubs runs a year long series with various contests. One is based on teams. A team can have up to five drivers, but only the top three driver's scores count from each event. In the past the team that has had three drivers consistently show up with maybe one driver consistently winning a class has a good chance to win. I would love to have an all MINI team. We would need a stock Cooper, a stock Cooper S and a maybe a couple modded MINIs. If someone was willing to run race tires that would be a good addition too. (This would get us coverage in at least four classes, THS, TGS, CMT and DSP, HS, GS or CMR) (CMT and CMR are essentially R and T versions of the SM class in SCCA)

Are there any takers? If we could get three or four people to commit to a season, I am sure we would place well. I will be running in CMT and another MCS will be running in TGS and might be willing to join. So, we really just need one or two more to make this happen (a Cooper would be a good addition).

I run GS (with race tires), and might be interested in joining your team if you still have the spot available. What's your event schedule look like (dates, locations)?

We definitely have a spot for you. We have ended up with one team of four and one team of three. There is growing interest and we are getting closer to adding more drivers to those teams, but still have three spots open.

Michigan MINI Motorin Club was recently accepted as a member club of the DCSCC. To be on the team you would need to be registered on MMMC and then registered in the DCSCC series. You can register for the series on Myautoevents, here.

Here is the DCSCC's current schedule for the season (we are three events in, but there are quite a few left to go):

May 31 - CCM @ Hamtramck GM Plant
Jun 14 - AROC @ Belle Isle or Oakland University
Jun 28 - MSCC @ Belle Isle
Aug 2 - AROC @ Belle Isle or Oakland University
Aug 9 - MSCC @ Belle Isle
Aug 23 - CCM @ Hamtramck GM Plant
Sep 13 - AROC @ Belle Isle or Oakland University
Sep 20 - CCM @ Hamtramck GM Plant
Oct 4 - MSCC @ Belle Isle
Oct 11 - CCM @ Hamtramck GM Plant
Oct 25 - MSCC @ Belle Isle - rain date

You can check the DCSCC blog for updates to the schedule and MSCC and CCM post events on Myautoevents.
