I've been down this road before. If it were me, I'd definitely go the HS route and just get some V710's. You'll get 80-100 runs out of them. Go with some Rota Slipstreams($500ish) from 18Racing.com and tell them Craig Wilcox sent you so they can justify my sponsorship.

So, for $500 for wheels plus 750 for tires and an alignment, you can immediately be competitive in HS Nationally whether you want to or not. You should be able to get -.6 up to -.8 or so camber up front and give it a bit of toe out(how much depends on how aggressive you want to be with the daily driver, I just set mine at 1/8" total for now, but, might go to 1/4-1/3" in a month or so for nationals). Rear camber is still debatable on the 07, mine is currently set at -1.0 per side but I run a bit higher pressures still. I'd guess -.6 or so might be OK, but, haven't tested yet since I still don't have my Koni's installed(or built for that matter).

Either way, I'm going with minimal prep, made to many compromises with my old STU car for a DD. I guess it will come down to which class has the most entries next week.

One thing to consider, the 07 MC will get 35-40mpg vs 20-23 or so on an STX Mini. The ride on the 07 MC will be significantly better too.

Are there camber bolts available for MCS? They are stock legal i belive right?

There are no camber bolts made and they are not legal in stock class unless the factory service manuel says you can use them.

Ya, as JustGoForIt said in the thread he linked, traditional camber bolts physically won't work on a Mini. The steering knuckle clamps around the strut.

This does make me a bit nervous about crash repair! But I guess these days, the body shops can pull the frame back into alignment well enough, eh? Hopefully I'll never have to find out!
