Colorado MINI Drive
Colorado MINI owners:
Here's what you need to know about the first group drive for the MINI Cooper and Cooper S in Colorado:
When: July 27th
Meeting Time: 8 AM
Departure Time: 8:30 AM
Departure Location: Schomp MINI on S. Broadway in Denver
Route: From Schomp MINI we will head to Estes Park, into Rocky Mountain National Park, on up Trail Ridge Road, over to Granby and Winter Park. Lunch will be in either Estes Park or Granby.
What you should bring:
Your MINI with a full tank of gas
Your Camera: There will be many opportunities opportunites for pictures. Heck the whole caravan will be a rolling photo op.
Motorola TalkAbout Radio or similar FRS radios (optional but suggested): We will be using Channel 7 Sub 21 (be sure your radio has subchannel capability if you are going to buy a set). The radios are relatively cheap and provide an excellent way for MINI to MINI communication during the drive. Range on the radios is about 3 miles.
A jacket: Weather on Trail Ridge could be significantly different than here in Denver. So plan accordingly.
Money for lunch and admittance to Rocky Mountain National Park
Hope to see as many MINI's as possible at Schomp MINI on July 27th

Here are some pictures I took today while scouting out the drive. Trail Ridge tops out at 12,183 ft - well over 2 miles above sea level. Breathtaking.
