“Be careful, not all bearings (differential) are the same quality”. After I went forth and performed independent study T. Nuzzo confirmed my selection as good enough.

There was more to the exchange than just information, the topic of discussion was also broader, but the bearing tidbit was the part that would be relevant to the “MINI community” the rest was about my application only (which is not public fodder for debate).

I went to the race today. We wondered why we didn't see Tony. There was only one VW and one MINI in the race. The MINI had blown its engine yesterday and the team scrambled to replace the engine with an engine from their Spec Class MINI. The nearly stock engine (stock pulley, aftermarket intercooler) just didn't have the power to be competitive. The MINI finished the race, but very near the back of the field. Most of the top ST cars were Acuras. The race was won by the #5 Mustang. After the race, we went to the garage and hung out with Randy and he was every bit as nice as Tony. We did miss seeing the two Electric Blue Nuzzo MINIs, but we did have one MINI to cheer on. I hope everyone will support Randy Smalley and Mark Congleton and their team.

To elaborate further on this, I too received input from Tony when I was inquring about a couple different topics (crank pullies & shocks). This was via PM. To me though, when I hear feedback to the Community, I think of NAM, these public forums, where many questions were asked. FWIW, my PM and email inquiries to Tony were addressed promptly, and were thoughtful.

I know, it's maybe in bad taste to say this now. I do hope Tony is OK

I will tell ya when I looked at the pictures of that VW I was appauled. This must have been one of the worst cage builds I've seen, which shows me that the rest of the car must also be lacking. There is no way as a driver that I would have driven that car.

Didn't think it did - I was commenting on the negative comments you seem so eager to banter about (I saw the comment about the 70 years of Nurburgring spins though, and laughed hard about the guy falling out of the Beetle - classic! ).

If two negatives make a positive...what comes of your multitude of negative comments? Lighten up and have some fun...even if it goes against your nature. Racing is not about BRAND loyalty..sharing of information..not with even the tightest teams. Give the community something positive....?

Not sure what you are thinking Lou. "BRAND loyalty"? I am in no way loyal to any brand, as you might even see from my sig pic. I have absolutely no issue with Nuzzo going with the VW. In fact as usual I will be straight forward, I'm glad he did. I had no respect for how that campaign was run.
As far as giving this community something positive, I think I have many times, but I could be wrong I guess.

Yucca Patrol and I met Tony Nuzzo and his MINI team at the inaugural races at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, back in 2003. He's a great guy and I wish him the very best in whichever car he races.

Sorry to read about the crash!

It appears that Tony got out of the whole team owner thing and has decided to just drive the cars this year. What got me the most was his comment about building new cars, but nothing about what he was building or why he decided to quit his team.

For you to comment about onasled when it seems you don't have much involvement kinda amazes me. I think you should go back and read all onasled's posts. Yes he has his own opinions as I do as you can see in this post, but 99.9 % of his posts are very helpful and well liked in this community. Maybe you should meet the man. He's Very far from being a negative person.
