kirk racing cage

Does anyone have experience with this roll cage (the top one)? Any thoughts on whether it would be be safe and pass tech in SCCA/NASA sanctioning? Thanks!

(BTW I did a search and found no info specific to this cage, other than a couple of photos and a similar question.)

There was a discussion about roll cages here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=56264

I've heard good reviews of his roll cages.

Check with Kirk at (205) 608-1156. He is in Alabama.

Which race series are you planning to get into?

You probably know this already, but be sure to consult the sanctioning body rules about cages.
NASA and SCCA are kinda similar.
You can download their regulations.

Here's a link to NASA's :

and SCCA:

No, that bar should not pass SCCA tech. NASA CCR shows that it should not pass either but who knows these days.
Mickey was right on as far as reading the CCR of both clubs. They are quite clear about roll cage requirerments. The first problem I see are the rear braces. There is also no mention of what material it is made from.

Thanks for the info kmickey and onasled. I had read that earlier thread re: rollcages, and was wondering if anyone has specific experience with the Kirk Racing cages. They are less expensive than many others, which makes them appealing for me, and from what I could tell from the photos they looked of decent quality. Sounds like I would have to add some additional braces, however...

I had a Kirk weld-in cage on my Cooper S club racing car. It was well-designed and worked well. It went through the dash and was welded into the sills, as I would recommend for road racing.
