Madness MINI takes 1st place in race 2 of the Phil Wicks MINI Championship Race Series at Sebring
Steve Diniz piloted his Madness equipped MINI to victory in race 2 of the Phil Wicks MINI Championship series. Diniz finished 1st in class beating the Webb Motorsports car and finished 4th overall in a field of 28 cars. This event was run in tandem with a NASA series event so the competition was even more intense than it would have been in the typical series.
Diniz qualified in 7th position with his next closest competitor, Webb Motorsports in 8th position qualifying a full second behind. From the start of the race Diniz pulled ahead to 4th position before turn 1 and maintained his position for the remainder of the 25 minute race.
The field was made up of some pretty wicked cars. The first place finisher was a Porsche 997 GT3, 2nd place went to the Brumos 911 Porsche, and third to a Ferrari Challenge car. Other cars included Porsche 944’s, Honda’s, Cameros, Mustangs etc.
Another thing to note is that Diniz’s lap times appear to be 2 seconds quicker than the fastest BMWCCA series times for this track!
Congratulations Steve and Crew on a race well won! Next race St. Louis
Photos and in car video will be coming within a week as well as full spec’s on Steve Diniz’s Madness Equipped MINI.
