Sebring....I'm coming

Paulo - it'd be great to have you out there! What class is your car? I assume BMWCCA? Hope you can make it. I talked with Pete Taylor and he wasn't sure, as the registration is all done through NASA. They should find out tonight. After Vegas, there will be limited anything that we will be able to do to the car before I have to leave tomorrow, so I will be in survival mode at Sebring (ripe for the striking ).

MSFIT - it is the Gintani with the larger exchanger, which is something we are playing with.

See you soon!
Randy
I'm signed up, look forward to meeting you and the rest of the group.
Regards,
Steve

Google just reminded me

of a posting in WhoWon.com.....about the NAMMC races in LV last weekend.

The article is posted at

http://www.whowon.com/Results.asp?Tr...StoryID=179124

You can set Google up to remind you of any mentions of MINI in the news.

Believe me, .... this is killing me that I'm not out there.
Besides the car not being ready yet, this series is really a west coast thing at this time.

Yeah, a Lime Rock event would've been really cool. I guess it is off to Buttonwillow in October! I think that's after the Donington Park event in the UK though, so it must just be a non-points event.

I'm leaving for Sebring - hope my clutch lasts!

Wheel Up

Here's one of Randy Webb on turn 2 (I think) with the right rear wheel up, just a little.

Juan, Thats a great picture of Barclay's car. You rock!

I did manage a few pictures at the race. The one of our car in front of Randy's car is obviously at practice or qualifying because at no time during the race were we in front . The other is of our crew, Grace. (No offense Randy but I think we got your crew beat in the looks category. But then, I'm her mom, I'm allowed to be biased.)

Had a great time with everyone at the track. It was a lot of fun running with all MINIs. Thanks to all the other MINI owners who came out to watch and stopped by to say hi.

Great sign Greg,
similar to the "good Cajun Woman wanted " I've seen here in the Bayou country.

I have some of Waylen's MINI (and all of the race participates along with a good chunk of those in the driver's school). I haven't processed the photos of Waylen's yet though as I'm currently working my way through 5 to 6 gigs of photos.

I'll be at Summit too, running the purple classic (school, not race) and then heading on over to MME 2006. I think this will be a good one too and will stand a good chance of having a number of classics around like Blackhawk Farms in '04.
It's fun to watch the little humpers go 'round the track.

Does anyone else have in-car footage of this event?

Here is mine if anyone interested. (35MB download.)

This is the Driving Event of course. Not the race. (Race only in my wet dreams)

I can tell you all that Phil is aware of and appreciates your feedback about the events this year. The North American Mini Cooper Championship Race Series (NAMCCRS - sheesh, what a mouthful) is just getting started and as you know still has some rough edges. We're proud of the fact that there were no incidents during the trackday in Las Vegas beyond a couple of spins and mild off road excursions, and lay the credit for that mainly on the shoulders of our wonderful crew of volunteer instructors. After a shortfall at Laguna, we were able to achieve a 1:1 ratio of novices and intermediates to instructors in Las Vegas and will work hard to keep that ratio in the future. Congratulations are due to all the drivers and teams who competed in the race. You are all winners as far as I'm concerned.

Our next Western Region venue is Buttonwillow on October 30th. Phil Wicks Driving Academy will again run a trackday along with another NAMCCRS event. Buttonwillow is a fabulous track just west of Bakersfield, so we expect to see lots of MINIs from Northern and Southern California as well as pilgrims from Nevada, Washington, Oregon and Arizona.

We will again be part of AMVIV in 2007. I can tell you we are working on making a two day driving/racing event on Saturday and Sunday and will be moving the venue from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, just 45 minutes from the Strip. We'll have more exciting news about the 2007 season later, but what a great way to kick it off!

Thanks for sticking by us through our growing pains as we build the organization to meet your expectations. There are bigger and better things to come. Please feel free to PM or email me or Phil or Pete Taylor, our Director of Racing with your comments and suggestions and I hope to see you all again soon at a Phil Wicks event.
