Octane Motorsport team announces participation in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship

Team Octane Motorsport will return to challenge the 2009 Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship in the Touring class. Alain Lauzière, owner and principal driver, will drive the John Cooper Works MINI Cooper S of Team Octane. “I consider myself lucky to have the continued support of our loyal team members. They will support me for the sixteen races throughout eight weekends which comprises the Castrol Championship in 2009” commented Lauzière.

Lauzière will drive the team’s main car, the bright orange MINI Cooper S. “We have a second car under preparation which should be completed shortly. We are in discussion with a few drivers interested to join our team this summer; we hope to be able to make an announcement within the next few weeks. A few races still remain available” mentioned Lauzière.

Team Octane Motorsport’s participation in the Castrol Touring Car Championship coincides with the 50th anniversary of the MINI brand. The first Mini rolled out of the Cowley plant in England on May 8th 1959.
