Lime Rock Park. July 3-4.
Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who may want to come watch some nice cars at Lime Rock on the 4th and 5th of July. This will be with the Jaguar Club and is part HPDE and part open track type of run.
The key thing on this event is that we will be the very first on the new configuration and the new pavement. It is an unmuffled day so there will be some sweet race cars there so I am told. Some ex Can-Ams and such. We will also be joined by one on the Vintage race clubs, so if you like cars, this should prove to be a couple of days not to miss.
We are asked to run hard and heavy as the paving equipment will still be at the track if repairs are needed for the up-coming ALMS race a few days later. Some of the ALMS teams will be participating in this event in their non-ALMS cars (like GT40s) to get a feel for the new track.
I will be running in group two which is still point bys. Depending how I run, I may end up in group one which is open passing throughout. That means I would be on the track with some ALMS drivers, which might be hairy to say the least.
Come by and say "hey".
Then off to New Hampshire for a BMWCR race the following two days, I hope.

I probably won't be heading down to Lime Rock, but I'll (hopefully) see you at NHMS the 6-7 (it sounds like you might have your days a little confused...)
Oh well....
This is part of an email sent to me today.

Because of the abnormally wet month of June Lime Rock is falling behind in getting the racetrack paved. They have been working 7 days a week. The track paving should be completed in the next few days, but it needs so many days for the pavement to cure.
Today I was told that there is only a 55 % chance we can use the track on Friday and almost 100 % chance that we can use the track on Saturday.
I was also told that we can not have any heavy high powered cars on the track. That means that all of the modern Corvettes, Ferraris, Vipers, NSX, Porsches, BMW M-3, GT-40s, and our one Mini race car. We can’t have any cars with wide tires and a lot of torque till the pavement cures. The tires will move the fresh pavement and ruin the new track surface. We will send everyone with these cars a full refund a week or so after the event.
