Old Shasta - Whiskeytown -Lewiston Run
May 10th is the new date for this run, as we were snowed out in January!
We will depart "downtown" Old Shasta (J's Market) at 9:00AM and take 299 west. The run will be about 3-4 hours including lunch at the Mountain Valley Grill in Lewiston. We'll start from Old Shasta and end up in Lewiston (Trinity Dam) then back. Check out the map!

Don't forget your radio's (7-21) and camera's!!
There is still snow capping the hills and mountains above the route so make sure your cameras are ready. We will be travelling through some smooth twisy mountain passes and along the shores of Whiskeytown & Trinity Lakes.
We have invited the Redding British Car Club to join us on this run. According to Accuweather the forecast is:

According to CalTrans SR-299 & SR-3 are open, clear with no planned construction, maintenance or delays.
By the way, the Town of Old Shasta will be hosting the 37th Annual 'Shasta Art Festival & Old Time Fiddle Jamboree' this weekend. This will feature Arts, Crafts, Food & Music featuring Winton Family Blue Grass Band and Manzanita Band on Saturday. Festival Hours 8:30AM-5:00PM. They will be serving the Mason/Miner's Breakfast 8:00AM-11:00AM so if you want to get there early, you can have breakfast before the run. Also might be fun to browse around after the run.
This looks like much better conditions than the Jan 5. 2008 run that was "snowed-out"
All MINI/Minis are welcome to join us.

WOW, it doesn't get much better than this, cool mountain air, clear skies, sun glistening off the snow capped mountains, smooth clear twisty roads along Trinity River and a fun group of spirited Mini drivers. Whooooo Whooooo !!!!!
9 Cars, including 8 Minis and 1 Lotus, left Old Shasta at 9AM and headed out 299 west, past Whiskeytown Lake, then up and over the Buckhorn Pass. What a blast ! Then a turn onto Trinity Dam road to Lewiston and a run out Rush Creek Rd. to SR-3 and back for a stop at the Trinity Dam Lookout and lunch at the Mountain Valley Grill. There Sandie and Ann took off up SR-3 past Trinity Center and over Scott Mountain while the rest drove back 299 to Old Shasta.
Great Day. Looks like the MS-REME group is catching on.
