R61 Paceman lift gate handle

Paceman lift gate handle
2013 Paceman All4 S here in northeast Ohio. Calcium chloride and who knows what other chemicals on the road this winter ended up causing the rear emblem lift gate handle to bubble. Part number 51149811724. Does anyone have any experience removing the handle? I already had the back interior panel off to do the wiper delete and that wasn't too bad. Do I need to replace the whole assembly or just the emblem? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Take #1 off the inside of the trunk and it clips in or you can lift it from the outside with a couple very small flat head screwdriver, its kind of hard that way.
