Thanks! I took the rings off, but only after reading how redbaron did it. I would have given up long before I ever got them off. After reading how he did it, it was very easy. Much easier than trying to cover everything and dealing with any overspray. I just need to do the grill and beltline next.

Grill and belt line make the the most mad so if you do those please make a DIY so I can follow suit. I will re-read RedBarons guide to see if I can handle it.

Thumbs up

So are you plastidiping them? or what paint?

I am thinking PlastiDip but not convince with durability.

Loving this look... cant wait to get mine done.

I used plasti dip. It's not as durable as actually painting them, but when it does start to show wear you just peel it off and respray. It's very easy stuff to work with and I'd highly recommend it. If for any reason you mess up in the process of putting it on, you wait for it to dry, peel it off, and respray. My stripes, beltline, headlight/taillight rings on my '08 were plasti-dipped for around 8 months when I sold it and it was still holding strong. If you want some extra durability, spray a couple extra coats on.

And keeping with the thread, I just had my windows tinted on Friday! 5% in the rear, 35% on the front two.

I was just in getting repairs to my Countryman. . .

and I drove home in this. It originally had 19" wheels and they were beautiful but practicality won out and I went with the 17" all seasons.

You know, it is really difficult to take good pictures of a black car on a gloomy day.

Black and red is always welcome.
Can you make a picture of the side stripes. I'm still looking for a good inspiration for my side stripes. Thanks.

MINI finally home

I picked up my Paceman yesterday and had it tinted today. Absolute Black and looking gorgeous! I'll take some pictures this weekend, but so happy with her I had to share the joy.

Planning to do some dipping in my future on those rings. Still debating on if I can remove them or just tape off the car. My other plan was to dip the badging, which is why I want to know how to debage.

Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my 2006 Astro Black S. We had a great run and made a great team.

Your Paceman is looking great, thanks for the info, I think i am Plati-diping the beltline tomorrow if I have some time. I wanted to vinyl it but cant find a nice matte black thin roll for it,
I think it has to be 3/4" thick.

Thanks! Let me know how plasti-dipping the belt line goes, that's next up on my list when I have time. Then I need to figure out an armrest...I thought I could do without it when I got the car, but every time I get in it I wish I had it...

I think belt line is later on my list, but it will be done.

I did the arm rest a couple of weeks ago, I also thought I could do without, it’s a simple install. make sure you get the new longer bolts to attache the arm rest.
Sorry for the dark pics…

Awesome, thanks! Where'd you get yours from? I was hoping to avoid paying $200+ for it but I may just have to bite the bullet and get it. I've been using the little rail cup holder as a temporary armrest and it's not really working out!

No, they are the 19" silverish factory option that I had plasti-dipped. I have had the car almost 6 months and the plasti-dip is really holding up well.

Are the handle covers the same from all MINI generations? will R56 covers fit my PM handles? I want some of these soon but want to make sure they fit nice and snug, if not I probable go with paint.

Now that finals are over, I can spend some time with my car! Drove out to the coast today and snapped a few pictures. Also got the NM springs installed along with a center armrest. Next up will be plastidip for the belt line and grille.
