How well does the Paceman AC perform?

I'm considering the Paceman but in my reading and research while weighting the Paceman versus the Countryman, I haven't seen any mention of the Paceman's air conditioning. I've seen multiple complaints about the Countryman's AC performing poorly, there's a thread here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...just-suck.html

Paceman owners: feedback and reviews of the air conditioning would be greatly appreciated.

I was a 2011 Countryman owner - I don't recall the A/C being underpowered, but the best thing I did involving the A/C was to get the windows tinted with an appropriate solar tint. I had the black leatherette seats which got DAMN hot in the Nashville summers, along with the dark headliner, and the tint really made a huge difference.

I do have a complaint about the AC but not being underpowered.

I have seen a direct correlation to the coldness based on the outside temperature. The warmer the outside temp the colder it will get. So in the cooler parts of the day (early and late) I really need to turn the temp down to get it to feel cold.

I kind of agree with Minipwbear. I find myself turning it on MAX when getting in when the direct sun is out. Otherwise I usually leave the automatic control alone and it does pretty well. Sometimes if its cool or not very sunny/dark I will bump it up a couple of degrees because the automatic can get a little over zealous.

Overall no complaints.

If you have the sunroof, I would recommend getting darker tint. I didn't and mine can get hot. Glad I have the tint on the sides and back but the delivered hole filled sunshade and light tint only blocks so much.

I don't use air conditioning!

If feeling hot, windows down or roof open...

We have a 3 weeks long summers over here: I am not going to "cool" my self and miss it...

You might also want to have folks explain if their experiences are with the regular/standard AC unit or the $500 optional climate control. I could see folks having different results with these two different systems.
