Need help... my sunroof won't close. I press the switch... it approaches to close then "refuses" bouncing off. I cleaned the rails to nice and shiny, and sprayed with Silicon (that's all I got for now). The wind deflector properly bends. The Sun Roof won't bow (go down) to close.
1. How do I get to the motor so I can crank shut? I looked at RealOEM but I don't see any screws in the overhead control bubble.
2. How do I get it to bow and close instead of "refuse" and bounce back?
Well, not what I expected from watching videos.
1. First pop off roof control cover with a credit card
2. Unscrew the roof control cluster. You'll need a torque driver to unscrew the two screws.
3. Remove the cluster... you'll push down the 6 clips on the sides of the cluster, then pull backwards to pull out.
4. Now the sunroof motor is exposed.
Was able to crank open but not close. It is acting like it is locked when trying to hand crank it. Had to push the sunroof down from the outside, at center, while pressing the sunroof switch to close.
Is there something wrong with the motor? A gear? What's up?
