Advice: Clean your MAF sensor

My 2013 Countryman S was running fine but I was cleaning some sensors on my wife's 4Runner and decided to clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on the Mini.

Big before-and-after difference. The car ran smoother at idle, much quieter and got better fuel mileage. Highly recommend everyone do this even if there is no apparent issue.

For reference: 2013 MINI Countryman S All4 6MT, 170K kms (105K miles), fairly well maintained

There is a great video on YouTube to clean the sensor. It takes less than 5 minutes total plus time to allow the sensor to dry before reinstallation.

Happy motoring!
