Hazy interior rear view mirror
Hazy interior rear view mirror
Auto dimming rear view mirror has become hazy on my 2011 MINI Countryman. The haze is behind the glass, and cannot be cleaned. I’ve noticed there are a few runs as if something sprayed behind the glass and dripped. Anyone with similar problem? Is there a fix or will it require a replacement?
Sounds like the auto dimming lcd is breaking down. Sometimes they end up leaking fluid out of the housing and staining whatever it hits below.
Not sure if that part is available separately. The housing might be the same as other 2nd gens which could make finding a used one a lot easier. You can check cross part numbers on realoem.com.
It might also also contain the remote receiver inside for the key fob which would need to be swapped out if your keys can’t be paired to the replacement mirror.
