Borrowing tools?

I've been working on my R60 since about maybe January with timing issues. Most of the delay was just getting the money lined up. A few months ago I decided to just buy a timing kit and fix it. The car does work better but its not 100%. I realized I didn't use the pre-tensioner tool like I should have due to not having the expensive torque wrench (83300496778) that is supposed to torque at 0.6nm.

I considered getting everything up to that point and retrying but I know the inevitable problem is that pre-tensioner. I did consider just breaking down and buying it from one of the reputable vendors I see on here but I know it will be just one of those tools shuffled to the back of my box never to be seen again. I did have an idea but this is where I'm wading in to uncharted waters. Do you think a European garage/shop would loan me said tool if I leave a cash deposit with them? I know its like $275-ish so I'll just leave 3 bills with them, knock the job out and bring it back ASAP. I'd gladly pay for the time, no question about that.

So does this sound reasonable?

0.6 Nm is about 5 in-lbs. Since a 1/4" torque wrench effectively only goes down to about 20 in-lbs, I'd think it would be safe calling 5 in-lbs "finger tight". No way I would spend $265 on the official BMW tool!
