trouble with Vanos actuator?
Just got the car back together (see below for the long version), Starts right up and runs, but getting code 287D via my Foxwell NT510. I did reset adaptations and ….valvtronic limit settings? Still getting this code. Checked this morning after driving and got 287D and 28CC? Just turned 50 so maybe couldn't read the screen.
Car runs great but the code comes back about 1 minute after starting car.
Ideas, help, suggestions?
So 2013 countryman, 124,800 miles burned valve on Cylinder #1.Pulled head, resurfaced , pressure checked and replaced 1 burned exhaust valve. Replaced, head, head gasket, timing set with new tensioner, head bolts, used engine locking tools for cams and crank. Started up and got miss cylinder 4. Verified with cylinder leak down that it was an issue with cylinder 4 exhaust valve..
Pulled the head, cyl 4 two bent valves. Back to machine shop, replace 7 exhaust valves. Reinstalled, new thicker head gasket, (i used the thicker one the first time). New Head bolts, Cam Bolts, new timing chain guide bolts. Reset adaptations, reset valvtronic limits.

were you able to sort this out? Does anyone using the NT510 scanner shown above know if the scanner can be used to calibrate the eccentric shaft motor? I’m in a similar situation with a 287D code after reassembling the engine after a head replacement. I did have to swap the old valvetronic of motor onto the new head.
it’s not my Vanos solenoids, not the one way oil valves, not the sprocket, not the metal oil ring in the cam shaft housing. Not the timing. (Timing cassette done, all parts replaced) ALL these have been eliminated. Any help would be great.
