2012 Countryman All4 rear passenger CV joint leaking?
2012 Countryman All4 rear passenger CV joint leaking?
Last weekend, I happened to look under the car for something that dropped, and spotted grease all over the passenger rear suspension components. I suspect it's the CV joint, but don't see any tears in the CV boot. Has anyone had similar issues on their All4 before? If so, are there any other symptoms I should watch for?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I don't have an all4 but mine is leaking at the driver side front outer. Upon cleaning the area up and close inspection, there is a small tear right where the larger side band clamp is, not the bellows.... Very small and hard to see but enough to fling probably most/all of the grease out and make a huge mess. Not sure what I want to do about it... Replace the boot or just leave it and see how long it lasts... I've seen some horror stories about getting that CV shaft out of the transmission due to ceased snap rings (dry with some rust) from the factory. Even about Mini techs having to replace transmissions due to stuck CV housing.
