Hey guys, I have a '14 Countryman S and I have a little issue with it. My center arm rest is very creaky with any pressure applied to it, regardless of if you sit as a passenger or driver, any pressure makes it creak. Is there any way to fix it or am I out of luck with it. Or do I have to purchase a new unit?

 

Check the mount for tightness and lubricate if needed.

 

Original or aftermarket install?

If it is still under warranty have the dealer handle it. They have a velour sticky tape that they just love using everywhere. It's like the duct tape of the auto dealerships.

 

It was original with the car. Unfortunately car no longer has warranty. I can't really pin point where on the arm rest it is creaking. When I lift it up, neither piece creaks, but when I close the armrest lid and it starts to creak again.

 

Just apply a little lubricant on the areas where plastic meets plastic and see if that eliminates the problem. Moocher's suggestion of the tape works also.
