Coolant Leak
Coolant Leak
Had my (new to me) 2012 CM All4 in for an oil change and checkup.
Dealer advised to replace upper rad hose with coolant temp sensor delete ($350) and replace oil cooler housing ($860), as there were signs of a coolant leak (i.e dried coolant on transmission and under car)
At that time I did not do the repairs as the pricing made me fall off my chair.
Of course now I *do* have a coolant leak. Puddle under the car. I might not have noticed before, or maybe the oil change and them rooting around under there caused it.
I looked at some of the videos on (for instance) replacing the thermostat housing and it looks like a huge PITA.
What's the best way to trouble shoot this? Don't want to start replacing parts without knowing the issue.
Or should I just bite the bullet and have the dealer do it. It's still flippin cold up here and am not looking forward to crawling all over/under the car freezing my heinie off...
