Vibration from 3-3500 rpm
Vibration from 3-3500 rpm
I've noticed over the past 3 weeks a vibration. Seems to occur in certain rpm range between 3-3500. Mainly in 4th when under load like going up hill. Can occur in other gears as well at about the same rpm point. Most if time it is low "rumbling" sound with a vibration which comes the through the seat and a bit through the door panel and steering wheel. When really bad which isn't as often it will start to vibrate the cabin, and I can hear dash joints and such vibrating. I can push through it over 4000 rpm and it goes away. What is this? Crank pulley dying? Something else? I am planning to go into the dealer and want some ideas....
Aarg! Of course, got the service guy to ride around and couldnt feel anything. I guess that's good but I'm not imagining the cabin shaking. I also own a Ural, where EVERY sound or fart could mean impending doom, so I could be a little too **** listening to things to an extent, but...
Yes and no. I have figured out that the winter gas blend seems to be at least part of the problem. Was REALLY bad in September and October then seems since then to have settled down. Not gone entirely. I still get what I think is excess vibration but it's better than when I posted originally. I also noticed overall the engine is running better when I use non-ethanol gas. Anyway, I'll see what happens when the blend changes again in the spring.
