Brake Job Cost / Parts + Labor - Non Dealer

Hi there guys. Hope all is well. I looked through the forum before asking.

Here's my question;

How much did you pay for your front brakes? Did you buy the parts online or at a store then took it to the shop and paid labor? How much for the labor did you pay?

I'm trying to get informed on what is the best option. My CM has 49K miles and it will need front brakes in the next 2K miles. Local shop that indeed works on Minis and BMWS will do it for me for 325 with parts and all. That's just pads, sensors and labor, no rotors. Same job at the stealership is 1200. So again, wondering how you guys worked yourself around avoiding the high price tag and was satisfied with the job. Also, did you opt to get the rotors even if a shop didn't explicitly say it needed them?

I would shop around at that price.

We charge about $200 for all that at our shop, then more for the rotors if need. And that is using the EBC redstuff pads.

WayMotorWorks,

Quick question, say I get the EBC Redstuff for the front brakes, the rear brakes still have about 10K miles worth of life left on them. those are OEM. Any conflict you are aware of that this may cause? I read somewhere that the front brakes would not properly apply with the EBCs in the front and OEMs. Could have just been an installation issue, but still wanted to run it by you and see if you can shed some light.

No problem with that, I've had people ask me that before and I've done that many times here at the shop for cars that only needed front brakes and the cars drive fine and brakes work with no issues.
