No A/C, no fan...

Hi All,
I have only had my CM for three weeks, and was driving home from the gym this evening when I noticed my automatic climate control screen was dark. I rarely use the A/C, but I always keep the fan on for some air flow. I thought it was strange that it was off, so I tried turning on the air, the fan, the heater, nothing. So as soon as I got home, I turned the car off and used my cell phone to call the dealer. They were closed, so I just left a message, but while I was sitting there, I heard a weird noise come from the general area of the A/C. So I turned the car back on, and the fan and AC were working fine again. Anyone else ever have this problem? Any ideas?

I had the exact same problem. Unfortunately for me, it was on the hottest day of the year so far. Car said 106 when I turned it on and I got no air flow. Drove 30 minutes home sweating my butt off. Let it sit for thirty minutes and tried again but still nothing. Started pulling fuses to check them. They all checked out fine and I tried again before I called the dealer and the A/C was back on. Very frustrating. Any ideas what could cause this? I doubt it had anything to do with the fuses. Is there an overpressure sensor on the compressor? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know what happened, but it has only happened the one time to me. I called the dealership, and they said they hadn't heard of anyone having the same problem. They offered to check it out, but I elected to just wait and see if it happens again.

I sure hope everyone who is having AC issues is calling the 800 MINI number to open a case so that BMW is made aware of the problems loud and clear. Sooner or later, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

My R53 used to do this every once in a while. Turning the engine off and back on would fix it. It amazes me that they still haven't fixed it.

This happened to me tonight. It was 103 today so I was really using the AC, ran an errand and got back into the car, no A/C or fan. I pushed all of the buttons to no avail. So, now it's sitting in the garage and still no luck. I'll give the dealer a call tomorrow if it's still not working.

Nice to know it's not just me that this has happened to.
